Not much new to report on. Emma has been extremely pleasant recently. She had a small cold last weekend but got over it fairly quickly. She is getting much easier to put down to sleep to where sometimes she is reaching for her bed. She goes to bed at 7:00 PM every night which is nice. One of our favorite times with her is whenever she wakes up from a nap. 95% of the time, she is in the best of moods and so excited to see you.

We also got to celebrate Grandma Anderson’s birthday this weekend by going out to The Columbus Fish Market, so Happy Birthday Mom!

I’ll leave you with my new favorite picture of Kate and Emma.

Here are a couple of updates on how much Emma has grown over the past few months:

- She started walking in November and is now all over the house getting into everything. She can even navigate up and down the stairs under supervision.
- She still takes 2 naps a day which mom is very thankful for.
- There aren’t too many foods that she doesn’t like, but she loves pastas and rice.
- She has just finished getting her 4th tooth. 2 front bottom and 2 front top.
- Her vocabulary consists mainly of Dada, Mama, Tsntsn (Samson) and a random collection of grunts for other requests.

This week we will be 24 weeks along! Kate has passed the 5 month point and we are so excited to be more than half way there. At our 20 week appointment we had an ultrasound that showed us an in-depth look at the baby. We also were able to find out that we are having a GIRL! Kate is feeling well and slowly but surely getting bigger. Our little girl has been moving like crazy and is getting big enough that Tim has been able to feel her move too. We have been gradually preparing the nursery and researching all of the baby gear and knowledge we’ll need. This has been such a wonderful experience thus far.

We’ve been fortunate to get to take a couple trips that have kept us busy this summer. In July we spent a long weekend in Chicago and then in August we spent another long weekend on Lake Erie in Marblehead, OH. We’ve been so blessed that Kate’s morning sickness is gone and her second trimester has been extremely smooth. It has allowed us to spend time at local fairs and festivals with friends as well travel and spend time with family.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and beginning of the school year. As the weather starts to turn to fall Tim will be officiating some high school football (an activity he took up last year) and Kate has quickly become an expert at garage saleing as she negotiates deals for baby items. We are looking forward to a fun fall and making the final arrangements for our little girl.

Two exciting pieces of news for the Anderson household. First up, we have a new family member! Samson the 8 month old Yellow Lab/Golden Retriever has joined us just under a week ago. He is very well behaved and both Tim and Kate are glad that he is fully housebroken. There is definitely still some puppy in him that we are working on but it is a very good learning experience for both of us. Here are a few shots from his first day at home.

Also exciting news is that after much tedious searching in a very rough economy, Kate has received a job offer for a position that promises some very exciting career opportunities and flexibility. More info on that at later once things are a little more solidified, but God has been good to us and continues to bless us as we grow.

Almost exactly a month a go, Kate and I decided to take a weekend trip down to Atlanta. We realized when moved down to Nashville, that we were a lot closer to some interesting cities and might as well take the opportunity to see some of them while we were here in The South. So for Valentine’s day weekend we made the 4 hour trip for a 2 day stay in Atlanta Georgia.

Our first stop into the city was the Atlanta History Museum. They had a lot of info on Atlanta’s past and growth as well as significant events that were important to Atlanta including the Civil War, Martin Luther King Jr, and the 1996 Olympics. After checking into our hotel, we got a nice Valentine’s Day dinner at a great Thai restaurant. For the evening’s activies we had heard about a fun event going on at Atlanta’s High Museum of Art. We decided to check it out and were glad we did. Not only was the Art Museum impressive itself, they also had a special exhibit on the Terracotta Army that was very cool to see. There was also had some fun music, dancing and desserts to keep us entertained.

The following morning we laid out our path to see three of the more popular tourist attractions that were all centrally located to our hotel and Centennial Olympic Park. Our first stop was the CNN World Headquarters studio tour. After our tour we moved on to visit the World of Coke and the Georgia Aquarium. By the end of the day we realized we had seen quite a lot for such a short period and were ready to head home. We had a great time and Atlanta is a really neat city.
